At 23, I left Belgium to embark on an adventure in Australia, driven by a desire to discover new landscapes, meet new people and learn more about myself. To finance my travels, I took on various small jobs throughout the country. One day I came across a job offer for an appointment setting role at Talk Scoop. Intrigued, I applied and was recruited as a lead generator. What I initially thought would be a brief stint to earn some money, turned into a transformative year-long journey.
The performance based structure at Talk Scoop motivated me to push my limits. Despite having no prior sales experience or knowledge of the solar industry, and my English level being less than perfect, I quickly achieved impressive results and earned a significant income. I was fortunate to be surrounded by an experienced team of salespeople and team leaders who provided invaluable guidance. I learned many things about sales, which introduced me to many interesting aspects of the field.
Thanks to my strong performance, I swiftly advanced to the role of team leader, taking on the responsibility of assisting new members and managing a team. This role allowed me to delve into the managerial and leadership aspects of the role, which I found immensely rewarding. Moreover, I formed lasting friendships with wonderful people I met during this time.
Today, I have returned to Europe and am fortunate to lead several successful companies. I run a digital marketing agency, a model management agency and developed a mobile app in the food industry in my home country. In these projects, I have pitched to clients and worked hard to promote my products and services. Now, I employ over twenty people across my businesses.
Reflecting on my journey, I realise how crucial the skills I acquired at Talk Scoop have been. What started as a simple backpacking job became a valuable training experience that I use daily. Sales skill and leadership lessons from Talk Scoop have significantly contributed to my success.
